i've got a good 74 4x4 scottsdale chassis, and a 2wd 84 custom deluxe. both trucks are longbeds. my question is will the 84 body fit on the 74 chassis? if so, which body mounts wood you use, 84 or 74? i've had the 84 since 1993 and the body is in very good shape and i just got through assembling a new 350 for it but haven't installed yet.

thanks for the input. i've been pricing poly bushings for the body and suspension. may take a little time but i think it will turn out nice.

you will have to modify the transmission hump in the 2wd cab for the 4x4 frame unless you use a body lift. i put a 77 2x4 cab on a 87 4x4 frame and the hump wouldn't clear the transfer case. i also believe the 81-87 mounts, mount in the frame different. i think its the 81-87 frames have the round holes with a flat side on them and the 73-80 have complete round holes in the frame mounts. or it might be reversed i will double check!

forgot to mention that i still have the cab on the 4wd chassis. think i might be able to retro fit the shifter hump from the 74 to the 84. the 74 is bolted in. what do you think?
i realize i will still have some cuting to do.

that would workjust depends on how much work your planning to put into it. i just cut the hump from half way back pulled it up about 3 inches and put new sheetmetal in the gap and welded it back up. i know some are bolt in and some are weld in so whichever is easiest i would do.

np. def. take pic's of progress!!
