I organized all of the stuff I carry around with me 100% of the time in the truck, and came to the conclusion that I need a better solution... (I also carry a 33" spare that is not shown)

I've been wanting to build a cargo box / sleeping platform for a while, so I've decided to bite the bullet and go for it.

Sizing up the drawer bottom
I realized after setting up the drawer bottom, I didn't account for the drawer rails. I want the sides of the drawer to go beside the bottoms, so I've got some trimming to do.

Hope to get the box finished up tonight, in which I'll post more pictures :)

Small lunchbreak update... I decided to use my lunch to roughly assemble one of the drawers to check the fit... there's a little sanding to do but, all and all... I'm happy with the results. the drawers will ultimately have a pocket pull handle

Cool build!!! What is the section in front of the drawers going to be??

Thanks! I'm going to put another wall up, cut the top, and add a piano hinge to store things that are larger or that I don't need as frequently. Like fluids, my siphon pump (for adding gear oil)... maybe a tent and some other junk. I'm not 100% sure with all the uses, but I wanted a larger compartment.

I like it. What's the plan to match level with seats folded down?

Taylor, for leveling the sleeping platform, my initial thought is that I will use pipe and flanges that can be removed when folded up...

TBH, the thing I'm most excited about getting to is, I want to put t-nuts into the top of the box so that I can secure my spare down on top

Now you know since you drive a toyota all the spare parts you really need are jeep parts!!Lol

I have something similar, not as nice or big but works good I will post a pic of it later....

Alright. I've put the platform and legs together, and attached pictures below. I'm trying to find something to be able to unscrew the legs, and clip them onto the lid, when it's folded back. If anyone has any insight onto what to look for, it would be appreciated. I know that the large Mag-lites come with the perfect mounts, if they were for 1/2" tubing.

The entire top is about 1/8th inch too wide, and the legs are about 1/2 inch too long.

Next step is to square everything up, and make it all a perfect level fit. I've over-cut everything intentionally to be able to take it back apart, and make adjustments as needed.
