1987 Cherokee engine harness

Dafaq does this plug into? I'm at the drivers side front of an 87 XJ. There is an identical connector right next to it that was plugged into the radiator. There is also an identical connector nearby plugged into the water jacket on the 4.0L block.

I got another one, didn't snap a pic.
There's a one pin round connector, on about 4" of wire coming out of the main engine harness, behind the dipstick. Maybe plugs into hvac or the pressurized coolant bottle. Thought I labelled everything I disconnected, so it's possible it wasn't connected to anything when I got it, or I missed it.
 
some 87-88 xjs have them and some don't and as many as i've owned (over 13 or so) i still don't know yet but never really put much thought into it lol.
 
yep that's it...dang it man..lol.now i'm gonna be on a mission to find this out by calling all my customers with 87-90 XJs and take a look at them to see if any of them have something plugged in LOL.
 
hey now you got me curious does it change anything if you unplug it while it's running or any options that change while it's unplugged or plugged in...this would be great to know and figure out this mystery. thanks
 
i noticed your's has cruise control and the other from RenegadeT doesn't so i wonder if that has something to do with it?
 
I kinda of thought the same thing about the cruise I haven't unplugged it with it run but I'll give it a shot and report back

got it fellas lol. my 88 here has it and it is the cruise control.
