well, i've been out of the loop for a while. sold my 79 scottsdale and my 89 k5, but now i've gotta chance to pickup a nice (ready to go) ramcharger. besides my 02 dodge cummins i've always had chevys. just want to get some other opinions on the ramchargers as far as their potential and ease of finding parts. any input or opinions would be appreciated.

I have a RamCharger I've beat into submission. You can't kill the 318 or 360, the 727s are practically bulletproof, the 208 tcase could be better but a 205 or 241 is a direct swap. Drop in a set of tons, some 4in or so lift springs, and trim to fit whatever tire you want. It's basically the same as building and/or wheeling a K5.

well, the one i have found has the 360 magnum engine with performance R/T heads and has swapped out the tbi for a carb. it has the 727 tranny, detroit easy locker in front and posi unit in the rear, running 4.10 gears. tom woods custom 2pc rear shaft. it's a clean truck inside and out. no trail or rock rash.

doesn't sound like a bad rig at all, I wouldn't expect much gas mileage, but it should get the job done. I'm not a fan of the Detroit ez-lockers, I've tried 2 different installs of them and neither worked right, aussie, powertrax and Spartan would be the better choices for lunchbox lockers

appreciate the input. like i said it is a nice rig even though it's been used for occasional trail riding and light rock crawlin. now i just have to make a decision.

87 didn't come with a magnum engine or TBI, and when magnum engines came out in 92-93 they were MPFI. Verify that it's a true magnum because there are some differences between it and an LA engine which will matter if you have to order parts. Also not sure why a RC would need a 2 piece rear shaft but if it works it sounds like a good rig.

sorry i left out some details. the complete engine was swapped in out of a 96 ram 1500. then he put the performance R/T heads on and went with a carb. the rear driveshaft is a dual cardan by tom woods. i guess he chose this because of the 6 inch lift and 35s.

Ok a double cardan shaft makes more sense lol. If the price is good Id buy it.
