Has anyone ever seen one of these 4x4's with the 2L diesel engine. Front is IFS. Truck appears to be factory. Just curious to see if there is much info available. And is this truck desirable to anyone? I researched the engine and it appears to be about 67 hp.
No turbo. Previous owner told me once that he search around only a hand full were actually in the states. He passed away and his family inquired to me about purchasing. I don't know anything about it other than it did run, it doesn't look aftermarket, and the body is a little rough. Flat bed on rear. Personally, I think the body was changed out because nothing looks different as far as the dash, labels etc. I have the vin at shop somewhere.

I'd rock one. Have serious doubts it's "original" to hear, maybe a special import or grey market etc.
It'd be cool to have, although honestly at this point though if I were looking for a diesel in a Toy I'd swap in a better motor (at least w/ a turbo)...
I am thinking the diesel was out of a 2wd and put into this 4wd body/chassis. It was running and was rebuilt approx 10000 miles ago by the owner, but I haven't cranked it yet. Flat bed on the rear is pretty stout; may just pick it up and try it out.
A friend had an Isuzu diesel pickup in the 80's he used as a work truck doing new construction plumbing. It had a pipe rack and way too much crap stuffed in the bed all the time and resembled the Beverly Hillbillies overloaded truck going down the road, just smaller. He put over 300k hard miles on the original motor and he was'nt real good about regular mantainence either!
Hells yea! I'd rock it! They were available in Canada that era. You could probably take the VIN to the dealer and they can look it up and tell you if it's original. Even if it isn't, it's pretty rare to see those engines here in the states.
