1988 4runner brake failure

my brake pedal went to the floor this week. quite unnerving. there is brake fluid everywhere. it is quite moist right under the brake fluid reservoir. the master cylinder is moist right under it, and then the fluid also is on the booster. my guess is that the master cylinder failed. any thoughts? thanks!

turned out to be a busted hard line... steering shaft was rubbing it.
