Good engine although it won't get out of it's own way since it's non-turbo, will run forever if well maintained though.
I don't like the front axles in the 250's, that year model is a TTB style suspension. You could always put a D60 in it out of an F-350 if you felt like it.

the TTBD50 will be fine on a tow rig. not the best ride in the world, but it will be fine.

great trucks will run 4 ever. 4 speeds are good 5 a little weak towing. 3 speeds autos are good. You can find a used turbo off a dodge and fab up the pipe. Turn the pump up and away you go. No powerstroke but a lot better.Several running around Davie and Yadkin from xxx diesel using the dodge turbo.
