Hey guys,

Im looking at swapping out my current 3" body lift on my K5 to a 4-6" suspension lift.

Im not looking at doing any serious 4 wheeling, just some beach cruising, etc., i just want something to jack my blazer up and put some 35's on it and not ride like crap. As is, I cant drive on the highway with the blocks on it, it jumps around when I hit the slightest bump in the road.

Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what lift kit (rough country, rancho, etc) to buy and where and what I need to go with it, steering stabilizer, etc. Also, do you guys know of anyone around the Raleigh area who could pay to help install?

Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks in advanced!

While there are several on here who are familiar with the K5s, my advice to you is to visit the CarolinaK5.com forum. Those guys are avid about these rigs and know what works and what doesn't.

cltba,

Thanks for the advice, I didnt even know CarolinaK5 existed! Thats great, I will shoot my question over there, sounds like they will have some experts on my situation.

Thanks again,

Kyle

i just finished mine, i went with 4" lift with 35"s.
rough country is the cheapest, and it's got the stiffest springs of all the chevy kits (imho).
if you are not wanting blocks the best way is the shackle flip, it retains stock ride while giving you the 4" you need.

Thanks Lee,

Thats a great looking K5! Okay, so I will definetely go with a shackle flip for sure, Im ready for a nice riding truck, these blocks are killing me. It looks like you went with a dual stabilizer on yours? Is that the only extra "accesory" you added on besides the lift?

Thank you again!

i don't know where you are in raleigh, but feel free to stop by and look at it, i can also go over some of the things they never seem to tell you about.
my shop is on old wake forest rd, behind best buy and lexus(near triangle town center)

Man that would be awesome, Im off atlantic/gresham lake, so im just about a mile away from you. I would defintely like to take a look at your anytime thats good for you. I really appreciate it.

If you need any pointers, let us know. Also this is a MUST: Check your frame behind and around the area where the steering box mounts! Our 6" lift cost us about $250 and some blood, sweat, and tears. The wife's on CarolinaK5 too.

Thanks a lot, I will be sure to check behind the frame around the steering box for sure, I heard I may need a new steering box mount/stabilizer. I appreciate the tip, sounds like it will definetely cost some blood and sweat and not to mention a little cash too!
