:driver:Just managed to get my hands on a stock mj that leaks worse than the titanic. i just bought a gasket kit that i need to install to prevent that i need to carry around oil wherever i go... my plans are to make this become a daily driver toy. i want to have a 10" long arm lift.
Any hints/tips/pointers???

should have bought mine, no leaks...jk
i wouldnt recommend the 10" lift for a dd..it will prob do good to do 40mph that high
safely

well i live in a smaller town and i kept my dd 2000 chevy metro if i need to drive down the highway or anything and i can drive it while the mj is appart. i will have to take the engine from the tranny to replace the seal there though.

im not planning on mudding or anything like that, for off road its going to crawl and maybe get me back to a few fishing holes that a metro cant come within a half mile of.
but mostly i want to take it out to flex

yeah it is leaking but not too bad unlike..... the valve cover which leaks around it and down the engine block and the oil pan leaks...

fyi, you dont have to seperate the engine and tranny, save your money on the lift and lock it and go

can you explain your trick about not seperating the engine and tranny to change the rear main seal?

The hardest part is dropping the front suspension down far enough to get the oil pan completely off. Removing the front wheels helps. That is, assuming you are doing it in your driveway/garage using a floorjack and jackstands.

took a while to do the seal... but wasn't paying attention and forgot to disconnect the battery... starter bumped the tranny lines sparks flew. finished everything else and cranked it up... had "arterial bleeding" from the line that got hit. got my hands on a coupler to do a budget friendly fix.
looks like my aftermarket goals will have to wait. got a speeding ticket in my metro haha
