Hey guys. Just wanted to start my build thread... I just picked up an axle yesterday because I am sick and tired of the IFS setup on my truck. I continue to snap axles, and bend steering components. So here is what I picked up.. I have fabricator friends who are going to help me with the build... Right now, I just have this axle... what do you all recommend doing to the axle first?

Tear the axle apart and replace the seals, gaskets, and bearings. Cut off all of the unneeded steering brackets, that should be a good start. Good luck with the swap.
 
Thank you sir. Just getting started. Will keep the thread alive with pics. Will I need an after market drive shaft? Also, is it possible for me to use my current IFS calipers? I thought I saw something about putting in a land cruiser disc and it allows the IFS calipers... thanks for all your help!
 
Hey guys. Sorry for not updating the build thread while I was going, but here are a bunch of pics of the work I have been doing over the past 4 months. I am pretty much done with the front axle, and it is all rebuilt and locked now. Chromoly inners too. Now, I just need to find a way to raise the rear.. any suggestions?!

Hey guys just wanted to update the thread here... I have decided to go with a rear leaf swap. I started working on it with a friend over the last weekend. we have 3.5 hours into it and have the rear axle completely out. My drums are nasty and worn out in the rear so its the perfect time to do the rear disc conversion, which I have ordered. I am also upping the size of the lift in the front to the 4 inch HD springs, to prepare for the exocage that we are building. I will keep you all posted as more to come!!!
