I am rebuilding the motor in my grandpas old isuzu pickup. It blew the headgasket on cylinder 3 so I figured what the hell, Ill just rebuild it. Its high mileage, leaks everywhere and I dont plan on ever getting rid of the truck so I figured I would make a little project out of it and fix it up. I use it as my dd now for gas mileage and to keep the road miles off of my jeep. Ive heard of people getting the cams ground, getting a weber carb and some headers and they say it really will wake these things up and increase fuel mileage as well. Do yall think any of this will make much of a difference? I know its just a 4 cylinder and im not expecting a power house or anything but if it will increase the performance and efficiency a noticable bit id like to try it. Im also regearing the rear axle to make up for putting 31s on the truck since I use it as my hunting truck as well. Not sure on what ratio yet. Im hoping I can pull my 16ft mckee craft with it bc that will be a lot more comfortable to ride in during duck season than my jeep. If these upgrades will make a differnce Im all for it but if they wont I dont want to throw my money away. Im just trying to make sure I dont waste my money on something that would be more beneficial somewhere else. Thanks for any advice/opinions.

Theres lots of info and tricks to do to that engine but your right you still wont have a huge power house. But something respectable for doing what you want is pretty easily achevable. Check out Planetisuzoo.com and you will find all your answers there.
