Whether I crank up from a long drive or start it cold, when I put it in drive and start out, it hesitaties at first, then you gun it a little and it goes on with no problems...

Do I have a bad sensor somewhere?

Have you changed the fuel filter lately?Or the air filter?

both have a recent change...both last year...of course...the old man who had it before me never let it get below half a tank, and I basically emptied it..

May try another filter...any other suggestions

I've traced yet another vacuum line that comes out of the throttle body on the front lower right that goes nowhere...anyone know where it should go?

You could spend minutes to days tracing the vac lines. Your best bet is to have another one of similar year to visually see where the lines go. if you can get me a pic of the line or maybe a better description I can try to look at my 91 to see if I can find it for you.

Which fuel filter did you change? Some have the in-line filter along the frame rail as well as a small filter at the inlet at the back of the throttle body. Run a pressure check on the line also. You might be loosing pressure and takes a few cranks to build pressure again.

Found the broken Vacuum line...It was the line that goes to the purge canister.

I haven't changed the fuel filter yet. I did change the Air Filter last year and it still looks pretty good (I haven't driven it 5000 miles since it was changed).

Still stumbles when you go with very little pedal...mash the pedal a little harder, and it takes right off.

So I'll continue to troubleshoot.

post up results if you find out what it is. i got a 93 gmc 2500 been doing the same thing for 4-5 years. still cant figure it out after 3 shops and me going over it numerous times

Just a thought but are you sure that it's the motor and not the tranny. I've seen people think that it's the motor and it be the tranny losing fluid in the tc.

I guess I could check the fluid in the TC...but the motor seems to stumble in R or D when you put minor pressure on the pedal. Get past that point and it is fine...runs fine and drives fine...just that little spot where it stumbles...

Depending on displacement, ECM, & BCC (chip), the fuel pump should run for 2.5 seconds (minimum, some run longer) if turned to "Run" position prior to start...
Any codes being thrown?

I haven;t checked for codes...and I haven't changed the fuel filter...

When I first got it...it didn't do it. IT actually started on the last day of our beach trip last year. It has done it every since. It was the day TS Hannah hit Cherry Grove, SC...

Check your EGR and EGR Solenoid also how is the Coil and Plugs/Wires???

Also, what tranny does it have by chance??? 700R4/4L60 or has it been swapped out perhaps to a TH-350???

Beat me to it. All these replies and nothing about the ignition until now.

My 95 will sometimes idle kind of lopey like it has a cam in it in on cold mornings for a minute or two. I've narrowed mine down to my injectors. I can pull my air cleaner and watch the spray pattern when it's doing this vs when it's warmed up. It's never affected the drivability any, only does it when it's idiling. 240k on mine and they're still the originals. Might be something to look at.

Rebuild

You can just get the throttle body rebuild kits and rebuild the unit... I would highly reccomend it. It has new screens and everything. Pretty straightforward and easy. Definatelky a 6 pack and 2 hr. afternoon job for decent improvements in Idle, Driveability and Responce.
