So here's my 1992 Toyota pickup, I bought the truck to be my DD and second build. The second I turned 15 I've been learning about fabrication, taught myself how to weld, and have been building and breaking my trucks. My last build was a 2wd prerunner but moving to the south I quickly realized the need for 4x4 and picked this guy up

quickly got rid of the heavy stock rims and put on some enkies I painted

after realizing I hated the way the stock steering wheel felt so I went looking for a good feeling Toyota wheel

while I was in California over Christmas break I stumbled upon a fully caged Mitsubishi in a pik-a-part, and after further exploration I discovered this gem

found the 8,000 pound winch, the fair lead, wiring, and bracket tray for $28.99. Used my grandpas sandblasting cabinet, checked the 100+ pounds of winch onto the plane and shipped it back here to the south. Had to cut and fabricate a little to make the mount work but the winch works good and was a steal!

My plans for this build is to be a fast, Good all around truck. I love go-fast prerunner stuff but I also love crawling and goofing off in the mud with my buddy's so this build will reflect all that stuff. I'll be buying a blazeland WIY kit using t100 cvs, coupled with sway-away torsion bars and fox shocks. All stuff I have ordered already. For the rear I'll be putting in deavers f67 pack which should give me 4 inches of lift and 18 inches of clean smooth wheel travel. I have a bender on the way so discreet tube bumpers and sliders will also find their way onto the truck soon.

full uniball front end with 14 inches of travel, had a ranger f31 dreaver pack with 17 inches of travel in the rear. I built everything but the shock hoops. The truck was supper fun and felt like a part of my family hah but after I started college, bent something in the tranny, and realized I need something more reliable that wasn't built by a learning 16 year old I sold it and bought my pickup. Miss it everyday but the pickup will be more reliable in the dirt and on the road and be a lot more versatile

I dig the Celica wheel! Never knew the splines interchanged. Keep this thing going, love to see Yota builds! Where abouts do you live?

I had an old 4Runner I built. Did a 3.4 swap, frame off build, etc.

I was building a 2wd truck and doing a straight axle up front when I decided to do the 4Runner thing instead. Girlfriends and dogs needed more room. Biggest thing when she left was that I really missed the old 2wd truck. That thing was awesome, should of kept and it and told her to buy something :)

Nice man! I'm actually in South Carolina around Columbia but I go to NC a lot. And I got the wheel out of a RAV4 but the supra celiac and dac wheels are all the same, made a huge difference in cockpit feel.

How was the 3.4 swap? That's something I wanna do really bad

The 3.4 swap for sent too bad because it all has been done before and well documented. Plus pretty much everything you need can be bought. I machined and tabbed my own crossover which took countless hours. I also chose an 01' Cali emissions automatic trans donor which had electronic throttle control. If you read my thread, the harness was gigantic even after waddling most of the junk out of it. I welded the 01' fuel tank fittings onto the 94' tank which was not fun. It would is a super sleeper swap that looks factory retaining all the factory gauges. Would I do it again? Nope...power and fuel economy was just not enough for the pain. I would probably either go 2UZ Supra if I had to stay Toyota or make an LS fit in there. Don't get me wrong, the 3.4 is an awesome powerplant. Since that rig was open/open with 31's, I spent most my time on the rev limiter. It actually wheeled awesome if you just convince yourself it can't throw a rod at 6 grand :)

I just think for the amount of time and money it took, I'd go with something else if I had to do it again.

I plan on buying the pre-made wiring harness and manifold so it should be direct bolt in I think. I'm really excited for the swap since I'll gain 50 hp and 5 mpg should be way worth it if I do it simply

put in about 8 hours today on dirt and really got to feel how the truck handles and what it needs. These yotas do amazing for stock height on 31s. I figured out I have 4:30 gears so I'm going to be going to a 32x11.50 soon. My tires are almost bald so I'll be buying kenda klevers off eBay for my next set. Also gonna be throwing in a locright, I'm not having that many traction issues but the damn open diff won't let me slide around when hauling butt. I'm more into "prerunning" then crawling so sliding is a must! Overall the truck did really well today and I used the winch a few time. My fabbed mounts and solenoid wiring held up good. Super happy with the truck even stock.
