have a 1992 Toyota pickup with a 22re. want to replace the radiator cap on it, but the factory one does not match up to the one I have in the truck. what type of radiator do people switch in to these trucks? like say a beefier one as a upgrade. the cap on the radiator in my truck is big compared to the factory one. tried matching them up at the parts stores to no avail. just grasping at straws here. thanks in advance.

Replaced mine earlier this year, go to a local Toyota dealership and buy a radiator from them. I believe mine was around $150 and its not the cheap piece of plastic shit that you get from Advance Auto or Autozone. :poop:

I believe there is a 3-core and a 2-core version, most folks go for the 3-core. Agree that the OE is better than the cheapies.
Hard to say what's up w/ that cap, that's strange they are typically all the same. The OE is just a normal cap. Look around on it and see if you can find a brand or model name or something.

i am thinking someone changed it along the way. the so called stock one is no where near the size of the one on the radiator. it is about 1/4 inch larger than the stock one. it is also a stant. will just have to try and figure out. thanks
