So I'm 18 years old about to leave for the army and this is my first jeep.

I picked up the truck off of craigslist thanks to Ed Ferguson who I work with he got me started in the whole 4 wheeling thing. I bought the truck with 260k on it a danna 44 in the front with a custom longarm setup, ford 9 inch in the rear with leafs, no shocks front or rear. So the truck needs some TLC since im a mechanic I tackled the motor situation first I bought a new four liter and ran through the motor to make it a reliable rig.

Now its time to tackle the suspention situation, I would like to lower the truck about 6 inches by bring the coil springs as close to the axle as possible for more flex out of the front the truck. Rear is simple I want to take the four inch block out of the backof the truck. The truck already sits higher in the front so it will levell it out also. Im open for any sugguestions and will try and keep you updated on progress

As comes with buying anyone elses project, you have alot of fixing to do...

Welcome to the Forum, Good Luck.

Good idea on redoing that front axle. I'm guessing the previous owner just wanted to get it in the air? Body looks nice and clean on it. Welcome to the forum!

I would start with cutting all that crap off the front axle, add some coil buckets and go from there.

Worked on the front axle some today I stumbled upon a problem there is some play in the pinion. Hoping its just needs some freshing up. Can't afford a new axle right now

So the truck is almost done! Thanks to Ed Ferguson, who has done all of the fab work for me. Which I cant thank him enough for, and of course my Father who has put tons of time into this truck while I've been gone at Basic Training! Thanks Pops! We lowered the truck about 4 inches by bring the spring perches down closer to the axle. As you can see the diffrence in the old and new pictures, also the truck came with no shock setup what so ever so we had to fix that. Ed and my Dad put there minds together and came up with an idea for the rear shock setup, coming up through the floor. The front is still in the works should be done in the next week or two. I also just ordered new tires for this bad boy. 36/13.50 Iroks. They should be arriving at the end of the week!

I spy bumpsteer with that little short track bar.

Is that a shackle on the end of the long arms at the frame. Never seen a setup iike that.

Looks better though. Could stand to go a little lower still. lol

Might look at what kind of bushing setup those front control arms have, or it may be a real stiff spring.. Hard to say the cause with just a picture, but it looks like you're missing out on some serious articulation (flex) in the front, and possibly the rear.

Just a thought from what I see in the picture on the lift. Its certainly coming together though, man. Good job.

Yeah this is my first jeep so im going to get it trail ready take it wheeling a few times and see what I can improve on from there.
