A guy around the corner for me is selling this 1994 YJ. My wife is wanting a jeep really bad since I got the XJ so I'm contemplating buying it for her. (wink, wink) It's stock except for a small shackle lift. (Didn't look lifted at all to me.) Still has SUA. The wife is probably gonna use it as a mall crawler and the thing looks real nice.

The guy is asking $3,000 but sounds negotiable. What should I offer him?

More pics coming.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me. I will say this though. If the wife is looking for a dd she may be disapointed.

This is a toy for her. She may do some light wheeling, but she honestly just loves the look of Jeeps and "ain't interested in all that boy stuff."

Don't know the mileage, but I believe it is a 5 speed. The guy wasn't around when I looked at it today. Gonna call him tomorrow to look at it in more detail.

I'd say its worth every penny he is asking
x2...for that price on a 4.0L yj...mileage and tranny options wouldnt really be that big of a concern to me. I have a 92 with 145k on it and the paint is bad and I wouldnt take less than $4500 for it. Go look on auto trader...some yjs seem to be going for the same price or more than tjs.

Looks as if the body and frame are in good condition.
Biggest concerns would be what engine, tranny combination and mileage.

Also check the same things you would check on any used car. Sounds, Oil pressure, engine temp after running up the road for 15 mins or so.

Drove it today. Wow that's a bumpy ride! hahah The wife's gonna need some bra reinforcement!

There's a bit of blow-by into the air cleaner. Has a small leak on the rear main, but that's normal. Has 180k miles and drives great. It is a manual. Seems a bit tough going into third, but that may be me not being used to the tranny. There's a bit of a leak from the top on the passenger side. Could be they just didn't seal it good because I didn't see any tears at all. Gonna go back tomorrow night and talk to him in person. His son was there today. There may be a bikini top included as well.

Welp I decided not to buy it. Told the wife about how rough the ride is and convinced her she really wants a TJ and not a YJ. :) If anyone is interested in this jeep I'll send you the info.
