ok i have a misfire i cant seem to figure out. i just changed the plugs and i used the double ground electrode denso plugs thinking the regular autolites might be the problem. it will miss if you throttle it more than about 25% from a dead stop or slow roll the misfire will eventualy go away as rpm comes up. . iam going to try plug wires next. the coil packs make it harder to check. i guess i could buy one and try it out in all three cylinders to see if it clears up. anyone have a test coil? any suggestions? i also changed the fuel filter and sea foamed the motor. the wires are less than a year old

Being that it's a waste spark system, If it was a coil you'd have a miss on 2 cylinders. Have you read the faults yet?

See if you can get a can of BG 44K. (it seems to be kind of hard to come by these days.) BG is the name brand. Put it in the tank at about 1/4 left and run till it's almost on fumes. Possibly a clogged fuel injector.

no codes at all, i bought a coil and swapped it around till i found the bad apple. i replaced the wires with NGK wires as well. after i wrote on the coil box the date and miles when i changed it i finally found a crack in the dang boot so no returning that lol. i had the coils out 3 or 4 times looking at them searching for carbon tracking etc. o well the thing runs great now. i used to make good money off the plastic coins that were in the bottom of the BG cans. back in like 2000 anyway. thanks for you help

In the boot that is attached to the wire or the one off the coil directly to the plug underneath it?

I'll keep that in mind. Mines at 165k and the only thing I've had to do is put a new timing belt on it when the tensioner pulley came loose and it jumped time. I did plugs, drive belts, w/p cam and crank seals then too.
