1996 chevy fullsize 4x4 abs problem.

Posting this for a friend.He has a 1996 1500 chevy 4x4.The abs light stays on and the brake pedal is soft.It did this awhile back and it was a rear wheel cylinder.He replaced it and bled the brakes and everything was great pedal was good.But now the pedal is soft again but calipers and wheel cylinders look great so does the master cylinder.I don't know much about chevys so I told him I would post it here.Anyone have any Ideals what to check?Thanks

Need more info...are the brakes good otherwise (I.e> does it stop the vehicle?
Is the fluid full?
Losing any?

No stays soft will not pump up.

Vehicle stops but pedal is soft.
Fluid is full.
Never loses any fluid and the brakes are new front and back.
