so I towed to Gulches Friday and on the way home Saturday I was a mile from my house and the truck suddenly wouldn’t stop unless I stood on the pedal and turned the trailer brakes all the way up.

I figured my booster was bad cause I was still getting a vacuum from the vacuum pump so I replaced it today and I still have no assisted braking.

It’s my DD so I really need to fix it by tomorrow...

Any help is appreciated

Does anyone know how much vacuum I should have? It seems to have vacuum, but it may not be enough coming from the vacuum pump.

I'm assuming you should be getting 22-25lbs, but I'm not sure if it's different with a diesel. There may be a reserve canister somewhere that's sprung a leak, too.

I need to grab a gauge. The vacuum on the line coming off the pump feels the same as one after the canister that goes to the booster.

If you had 22-25 PSI of vacuum, that'd definitely be your problem :D

Haha yep.
I do actually think it’s my vacuum pump though. Just pulled the line off my jeep and it was pulling at least twice the vacuum as the 350... guess I’ll be replacing the pump if I can find one in stock somewhere.

I was going to say that if you pull the line off of the booster with the truck running, you should hear a distinct whistling/sucking noise. If not, the vacuum pump is probably shot. At least now you'll have a new pump and booster and it should last you another 20 years!

I’m taking the booster back. lol
The pump was making a hissing noise, like a cobra chicken.(goose)

We’ll see how it goes.

If that were the case, I definitely wouldn't be a machinist any more!
