Im thinking about putting a 2 inch budget boost lift on my 1998 TJ and just had a few questions. How much would it be to get it installed at a local shop, if I wanted to in the future could I add like a 4 inch suspension lift, and 31s or 32s? Also should I get it with or without springs (about a 100 dollar difference)
Sorry for all the questions
thanks, Jake

as for getting it installed at a local shop, I really don't think you would have to take it anywhere, even with the most horrible mechanical skills, I'm sure you could do a budget boost yourself or find someone to help you. But if you are heartset on taking it somewhere I doubt a shop will charge you much at all. If you are thinking of going bigger in the future then I would go spacers for now then if you wanted you could get some 2 or 4in lift springs to add for however much more you wanted. With a 2 in you can fit 32s.

so how much of a differince would it be if i got shocks or didn't get them and what do i need to install the lift.
thanks, Jake

im runnin 1 3/4 BDS spacers and 32s stock shocks (need to be changed) and i like it. i could prob run 33s but i like my 32s. there are lots of guys on jeepsunlimited runnin spacers and 1in body lift and 33s

do you like the set up, and were did u get your spacers? how hard were they to install?
thanks, Jake

We put a 2" BB on my G/F's TJ, not hard at all, just undo the sway bar and shock and let the axle droop down, pop the spring out, pop the spacer in, put the spring back in and put it all back together. Just to see how it looked, I threw my spare 33x12.5x15 on her jeep to see what it would look like, and it can definately clear 33's with the BB, now there may not be a whole lot of room left for flexing and whatnot, but right now her jeep is a streetqueen anyways.

nah not hard at all. if u had a spring compressor that would make it way easier. but when we did mine we did it the way 93redzj explained

I bought some off Ebay a few years back for like $30 for all 4. I ran 31's stock and 33's after the BB. At the time it was a daily driver, so no offroading...

Most people will say a spacer is a spacer, I tend to agree. Check out Rubicon Express, Daystar, even Skyjacker since its just a spacer, or teraflex.
