I've had bad luck with air compressors this year have had two kolbalt from Lowes one was a 120 volt 20 gal. Burnt up in a month. Moved to a big shop upgraded to a 220 volt 60 gal. And it started squarting oil everywhere the other day. I like the no questions aske d return policy but don't think I'm gonna get another from there. Looking for another 120 volt 20-30 gallon upright compressor, moved stuff back home so no need for a 60+ gal. Has anyone had good luck with one.

I have a Kobalt that I wasn't sure really worked. The stupid digital display definitely doesn't work (and reminds me of everything I hate about Kobalt tools). But every time I plug it in, it runs up to pressure just like it should.

It's loud as a banshee and I probably wouldn't pay actual money for another one like it, so this is really no help at all. :flipoff2:

They don't ask questions because they already know the answers...

The older American made compressors are hard to beat, but I usually see those in a horizontal tank version. Look for something belt driven with a 1750rpm or less motor. It will last longer and be quieter than the direct drive stuff.

Before I bought the kolbolt junk I had a little belt drive like that maybe 10 gallons couldn't tell when it was on hardly it was great... Let a buddy borrow it and he burnt it up running it for 3 hours straight

As far as the cheaper ones go, Ive got an Ingersol Rand from Tractor Supply and its been dead nuts reliable.
Doesnt get used a ton but never had an issue.

Its not a quincy by anymeans but for the price its been great.

I had a craftsmen oil less 33 gallon before that never gave me any issues. Upgraded though to a 60 gallon 220v oil compressor and I hope to never use a smaller oil less one again. Mine is pretty old and sat unused for a number of years but still is kicking
