2000 7.3 6 speed no start unless I change the oil in HPOP resv.

Yea, just sucks I have to about pull the engine to replace the timing aluminum housing that the lpop gears ride against. I think I will just start it daily. Keep the thing in prime. I will also test the batteries, I am told they may be low but I think they are ok...

Scan tool data would be a great way to confirm your diagnosis. I would take a look at the batteries state of charge and get an idea of their condition before worrying to much about them. If the trucks spinning over decently I doubt you have a battery issue.

I am gonna get it scanned if it happens again. Going tomorrow after work to test the batteries. If anything to just rule it out.

Thanks for the data!

Got home from work & jumped in the truck to have the batteries load tested. would not fire.

Installed a 0-160 psi gauge in the top of the HPOP. Spun the engine over & it came up to 40 psi quick. Thank god! I did not want to tear this SOB down to replace the lpop.

Only other thing was that came up was the batteries. I put the charger on it for 20 min, fired right up. I guess I wasn't getting the required 10.5 volts to fire the computer. The oil change was a coincidence, some of that shit will sure fool ya..

Went to wally world & asked the monkeys to load test the batteries, the began. I said " what are you doing"? Testing the batteries, "No test the one at a time." I said. He said huh?. I explained that he cannot tell me which one is bad unless he disconnected one form the other.

The first one was bad. he hooked the cable back up. I said "what are you doing" and I had to explain it again.. before he tested the second battery.

Well one is bad you want us to replace it? I said no, your sucking IQ points from my tires now. I will do it myself..

I believe the dead battery ended up being the problem. Wasn't getting the proper voltage to computer.
