First off, hello. I've always wanted to get a Jeep, but have had other toys that wouldn't let me justify a Jeep as well. Finally bought one last month and have been a bit busy building it up. The goal is a street legal trail rig that can handle moderate trails. Decided to do a LCG build and then we'll see what happens after I get it on the trails.
Here's what I started with

Installed a bikini top & tonneu cover. Removed rear seat as well.

I'm waiting on Metalcloak tube fenders to show up so the new 35" tires can be installed

New bumper and tire carrier built and painted. I re-used the stock tire mount, the 2" hole in the center of it is for a third brake light that I have to wire up yet. Overall I think it turned out pretty good

That is one mean lookin rig out got there. Can you pm me some info/price/website on those front/rear fenders please... i would love to have a set of those on my TJ.

Yeah I wasn't going to run any flare if get them and get them bare and have them painted to match. Looks great tho.

Nice job! That really looks good. Are those the Arched or Overline tube fenders? You've got me thinking about those Metalcloaks and dropping to a smaller lift. I would like to get to a lower COG.

Well, here's a long over due update... Got the 2" lift installed finally
It's sitting at 15 1/2" from the belly pan to the ground. I a couple of weeks, I'll get the AEV tummy tuck installed.

Had the Jeep out at URE for the workday this past Saturday. It's rolls through the rocks without any bottoming out now. Only recall hitting the bumpstop once (right rear). It's nice and stable on the highway at 70mph as well.

Pretty happy with the route I've taken so far, need to work on getting the diffs locked and a winch mounted up now.

Resurrecting this thread from the dead...

Quite a bit of work has been done since the last update.

I installed an ARB locker in the rear and the small ARB compressor under the hood

A trip to Rausch Creek proved that I needed a new gas tank skid plate

It's hard to see how big that dent is, but it's up about 4" from where it should be. The poly tank didn't get any holes and popped right back out.

I replaced it with the Aluminum Savvy skid, sorry no photos of that.

On a club workday, we installed a Blue Torch Fab sport cage kit:

I bought a JY Dana 44 front axle (from a 82ish Jeep Wagoneer) and started the swap. I went with Ford hub/rotors and the 5x5.5 bolt pattern.

Stripped the axle

As it sits today, I have a Dana 44 front and rear. The rear has an ARB locker and 35 spline axles. The front has a lockright locker and stock axles. The coilovers are 14" travel with 150/200 springs. The rear has 2" lift springs with a 1 3/4" poly spacer and 12" travel shocks. In the near future the rear will be getting 14" coilovers as well. All control arms are Rokmen's with Jonny Joints and the new upper mounts on the front axle have Jonny Joints as well.

Since the axle swap, I've taken the Jeep to Rausch Creek and URE. Everything works really well, the front end drops out a good amount and it feels very stable. I'm able to drive it down the road at any speed without issue.

More pictures to come of the front swap
