When i first go to start the jeep i have to cycle the key 3 sometimes 4 times to get it to start but if i cut it off for only10-15 min. it cranks right up.... the pump's loosing its prime after it sits for longer than an hour or so.My question is,is there anything else like a bad quick connect fitting or
that could cause it or the pump just too week to hold prime and need to replace pump.It dependable just kind of a pain in my A$$! lol

im pretty sure its the pump just curious if anyone has any suggestions before i go drop some $$$ on a new pump?

My Dodge 2500 would NEVER start on the first crank. It would ALWAYS start on the second crank. Lived with it for years like you. Turns out the fuel pump assembly has a bladder in it that holds the pressure. If it gets old or tired it can leak down and cause the problem described. At least that's how it was described to me by 3DCRAWLER. New pump assembly and the truck starts first time everytime!

You need to see where the pressure loss is. Easiest way is to remove the fuel rail and injectors, but leave the supply line on the rail. Then cycle the key to build pressure. Look closely at the injectors to see if they leak on the outlet end. If so, replace the injector, if not, replace the pump.
