Have a 148k mile 4Runner limited V6 that is almost perfect considering 17 years. Trans is dead i think, gonna flush and fill first. That being said i would rather get this up and running and sell. Anyone got a lead on Toy transmissions/ junkyards?

There is a guy close to you that did some Toyota work for me part time. He was a Toyota guru and had a ton of Toyota stuff laying around. @snappy knows the guy.

What trans? I have a friend local with a ton of Toyota parts trucks. If anyone has it, he does.

Check the radiator. The auto trans models have a built in trans cooler in the bottom of the radiator. It’s a common thing for the two chambers to crack mixing the fluids and killing the trans. Just google 3rd gen 4Runner pink milkshake. Otherwise that seems like an oddly low mileage to lose a stock trans in those vehicles.

Did the trans cooler and took out the connection to radiator at the last grinding session 25-30k 2 yrs ago. No overdrive for that time but did great w OD off.
Kills engine in forward or reverse
