2001 7.3 injector problem?

i have an '01 f250 with 260k. when i start it cold, it smokes a lot. when i start it warm, it smokes less but still does. it idles rough and smokes when sitting still. it appears to be blue/grey smoke. i think its an injector going bad or gone bad already but i thought i'd ask the geniuses on here first.
it does seem to be losing power and i cant really hear the turbo either. i say losing power, what i mean is that when i pulled my 5th wheel camper up any grade it changes gears a lot.
any ideas? any fixes? any help? need any more info?

You could run a oil flush designed for huei systems and run a decent oil but most likely its dropping a injector. Have a local shop do a contribution test and it'll give you a little idea which a weak.
Its best to replace all at once if they've never been done but cash dosent always allow for that.

i think i can do the injectors myself if i have a decent place to do the work and decent shop conditions. ebay has a superkit that has injectors, o-rings, valve cover gaskets with harnesses and glow plugs for 1080.00. figured id go that route once i had the money. i kinda figured injectors but i hate to pull valve covers without replacing something

Swamps injectors have the best warranty 5 year, 200k mile warranty

i would stay away from the ebay superkit b/c if they can not stand by there injectors better & not give more that a six months from the original purchase date

Well make sure you get the oil out of the cylinders before trying to start it! lol

X2 you will just pay for two sets of injectors this way.

thanks for the info guys. id really to get this done soon. i also am thinking about just selling it and getting a 4wd model. love the truck but i SO miss my 4wd's
 
There's a 6.0 in my shop that's 4x4 and the customer will sell it CHEAP. lol

Nope this ones getting the whole motor, driver side bank had a bit of water damage and wiped out all of the cross hatching. Someone previously "repaired" the truck and I'm guessing just opted to throw it back together and sell it. They basically finger tightened the injector hold downs, all of which leaked combustion. One injectors remnants were found loose in the rocker box.

thats nasty looking. i sure hope i dont run into anything like that. still leaning towards selling it or trading it for 4x4. i just hate to get rid of her
