like the title says i got this truck a few weeks ago and noticed it is leaking a very small amount of gas when it sits during the day. (id say the size of a small dinner plate over 9-10 hours). it seems to be coming from around the bowl on top of the motor? im assuming that there is a fuel filter in there. thats where there looked to be moisture coming from i probably wont try to fix this myself but any ideas on what it could be so i know im not getting screwed over when i take it in.

From your description I can't tell if it is leaking from the tail lights or the front bumper. More info please.

I'm assuming u have a 7.3. If so the valve on the fuel filter is famous for leaking. Cheap fix if u decide to fix it. You could also attach a hose to the drain outlet and insert a bolt to stop the leak.

Could you elaborate on the cheap fix or is the hose with a bolt in it that? Btw planning on fixing my doors This weekend with your other threads help

The valve is realitively cheap, under $30 I think.

Gas or diesel? Your title says fuel, but your first post says gas. But from "bowl on top" makes me think 7.3 diesel. If so, like Gotwood posted, the fuel bowl drain valve is the most common fuel leak. Just a few o-rings to replace, but the two bolts to get the valve off are a paint to get to. Dieselorings.com has the o-rings and the instructions to replace them. They also sell the complete valve, but unless yours is broken just replace the o-rings. Takes about 30 minutes start to finish, with 25 minutes of that being fiddling with the two bolts.

Mine just started leaking too. I'm betting it's the o rings on the drain, I have drained my fuel bowl several times in the last year.

Keep us posted on the repairs

Probably gonna be a couple days maybe this weekend before I mess with it right now it's not leaking a whole lot so I'm not to worried about it

small leaks will start a fire just as fast as a big leak
& then that small leak will turn into a bad day

thanks that what i was thinking but just making sure since it seems like you have already done it.... and i had planned on it spend a little extra and do it once and be done with it
it is easy to do & on there web page is a step by step
takes me about 45 mins if i take my time

i just changed the o-rings it was just as easy as everyone said anyone else thats gonna try it have a little magnet stick around incase you drop a bolt into the valley below
