2001 mitsubishi montero sport dies at idle

tried to help my dad out and replace the starter on his montero,(wont do that again) got it all back together yesterday and drove it to work today and it dies at every red light. as far as i know it ran fine before i replaced the starter. all the vacuum hoses that i moved around near the starter have to do with the 4wd system. im thinking the most likely cause is going to be the idle air sensor, but why would it just start acting up now?

did you forget to put the ground strap back on the starter bolt

Negative.... The air box was full of a mouse nest I'm gonna say that's probably it but gonna test drive it here in a few

Should turn on the service engine light.. I've put a motor in one, & it sucked.
