2002 GMC 8.1 broken crankshaft sensor

My crankshaft sensor is broken at the block.short of pulling the motor is there any way of getting it out

Simple google search... looks like its pull the motor or cut a hole in the firewall

I have fished them out by cutting about a 2.5" hole in the right spot in the firewall, then just patched the hole after. Took a little over an hr total on the first one because it usually came out in pieces. Long reach needle nose pliers are your friend.

Note: This was on construction fleet vehicles that I managed up North with lots of rust issues, not customer vehicles.
