So we have a chance at buying this. Just kinda dropped into our laps and ALMOST to good a deal to pass up.
Does anyone here have any experience with them?
Pros? Cons? Reliable? We just don't know anything about them!

It's 4wd and loaded with options and has around 144,000 miles ..... what's it worth?
I do know the fuel mileage kinda sux, but so does the mileage on what it would replace, so thats a wash.

Thanks,

Matt

We had an 05 Trailblazer, which is basically the same thing. We bought it with like 30k miles on it and have owned it ever since. Has 240k miles and was great up until recently when it lunched a head gasket. It is sitting behind my shop waiting for me either sell it or do whatever with it. Only real issue with it was the trans went out at 180k miles. The dipstick tube rusted out and clogged the pan filter. I don't know how that happened, but it is a common problem with these trucks. I was constantly checking it after that and knocking the rust off of it on every oil change.

I know they are kind of hit or miss. My best friend also has one and he loves his too. I actually very much prefer the Trailblazer to my wife's current WK Jeep.

If you buy it and want a lift kit and some brand new 31" tires for it, let me know, I'd sell the ones off of mine.

Depends on which motor it has.
If it has the LL8 (i-6) I wouldnt take it if it was free.
The engine only had about a 5 year run of existence and was plagued by trouble the entire time. Warped heads, bad head gaskets(some caused by heads some not), random injector failures, and lots of reports of terrible fuel mileage (single digits) with Gm shrugging it off.

That I6 actually made decent power.

If is a 5.3 it could be an LM4 or an LM7. The LM4 is another short run engine (lasted only 1.5 model years)...the LM7 on the contrast stands the test of time.

I buy the hell out of them, pretty tough, way less trouble than exploders. I have not had many issues with either motor
