anybody have any advice on how to get this fan off the water pump, it has a single main nut, and I can't seem to stop everything to stop turning. the pulley is in the way to stop the water pump and the other side has the clutch for the fan. going to take the plasma cutter to it soon.

the radiator and shroud are out and the fan and pulley won't let me get the last 2 bolts out of the pump.

any help will be appreciated.

is the belt still on it?
you can use a chain wrench on the water pump pulley, they also make a strap wrench.
i use a pneumatic fan clutch wrench that goes on an air hammer.
in a desperate situation you can use your belt.
they also make a tool that slips down around the 4 water pump bolts to hold the pulley.

thanks, I tried a strap wrench and still slipped, so I'm going to O'reillys to rent a tool, was trying to avoid the $80 rental and the time to get it. but whats another 30 min when I've been fighting with it for a couple hours.

and no the belts not on.

leave the belt on it and give it a good hit with a long punch on the corner of the flat. i dont think i have ever had one that it didnt work.
This what someone else suggested and pop. 20min later i was on my to the store. thanks.
