2004 TJ 4.0 manual 32"s and 3.07 gears

I am just wondering if I would be ok pulling a fullsize car or a popup camper with this set up?

How important is stopping? :D jk

Ive seen people do worse, but I wouldn't be sure about it.

Not too important I can always find a tree for that. haha

Honestly as long as your careful, it wouldn't be an issue I don't think, just take it real easy and stay back from vehicles.

Will I be able to go faster then 45mph with the gears I have?

Just because the vehicle is physically capable of pulling it, it doesn't mean it's a good idea. You could put a 18 wheeler diesel in a mini-cooper, and it could pull 75k lbs. But the load would instantly overwhelm it.

A trailer is like a chain, it is made to pull. Things get goofy when you try stopping and cornering, particularly if the tow vehicle doesn't have enough mass, brakes, and wheelbase. There are some very good threads in the towing section about this.

Basically a TJ isn't suited to pull a car. A popup is generally a lot lighter and might be fine depending on the model.

The car would be a one time pull to get my broken down car from Greenville, NC to Charlotte.

I would however like to get a pop up(only way I can get the fiance to go camping again HAHA thats a story).

Considering thats a serious haul, I wouldn't do it. Borrow a truck or get a friend to drive ya. For around the block, or a few miles in a worst case situation, sure. Otherwise, just not worth the risk, as for the pop up, would definatly be doable.

Thanks for the input I guess the cancels out that idea.
