2004 Ford Freestar

My wife's van just stalled and it will start back up and run ok then stall again. Now it wont shift into reverse at all. Anyone know anything it may be besides the trans? When ou shift it into reverse you can hear it shift and it just revs up. The trans fluid is clean and full. I just bought the van last fall for my wife with 45k and now has about 55K. The van is a 04 freestar with the 4.2 auto trans. Any help would be nice.

It will shift into reverse now but it is in limp mode in drive now

Don't know if this will help, I had a 91 Taurus that would act up like that. Try a fluid and filter change. It may fix it. It worked on a 94 Acclaim and the taurus. Good luck.

the fluid is very clean it has been flushed not too long ago
