Long time no post here, but a few things have changed...The Taco is long gone and I'm the owner of a '04 Jeep Grand Cherokee! Looking to go for a 2" coil spring lift and 31's. I'm about to order a set of 2" BDS-Suspension Coil spring lift.

Thoughts on this lift? Other lift ideas that you think might be better? How difficult of an install would it be to do on my own? From some reading and looking at the install guides, it appears not to be terribly difficult, but what are some thoughts on this?

I'm new to the whole jeep thing, so any other precautions for lifting would be great as well! Thanks!

I'm looking into the Doetch Tech Shocks. They are the same ones I had on my Tacoma and I really like them. Are their any negatives to the BDS Springs?

Wow, you'll regret selling the taco and you'll soon find That Jeep thing is nothing to brag about!:flipoff2: Anyway, good luck!

P.S. Welcome back :flipoff2:

Well, a regular cab Taco doesn't pave the way as a future family car/Weekend Wheeler! Gotta have room for the car seat and camping gear!

I'm looking into the other shock options as well...

From what I've heard and read about the iron rock 3" or Old Man Emu 2.5", I definitely agree to go that route. You'll have a great ride and plenty of room for the 31" tires.

I have an 01 grand, but took the cheap way out and put 2" bushing lift front and rear, 31" all terrains, skyjacker nitro shocks, and old man emu HD steering stabilizer. I've been really happy with everything but will be yanking the bushings out for good springs very soon. Clearance for the tires and larger, non-stock shocks would definitely be much better with a 3" or 2.5" spring lift. Hope this helps.

I've looked at their website. Lots of great information there. The lifts you mentioned were a bit out of my price range. I have a pretty strict budget for this one, so those won't quite make the cut. The 2" BDS is right were I want to be for price and lift amount.

----I haven't looked yet, but are there 1/2" spacers I could throw on top of the front to get the Jeep to sit a bit more level?----
I found out the answer to this one!

It is currently butt end high right now. Would it be worth it to buy a set of the 2.5" front OME coils and a different set of 2" rear coils?

Spacers would probably be better?
Either that, or just put more beer in the cooler in the back? :D

Coils always seem to really fluctuate (at least from what I've seen?) a "two" inch coil might net you 2.5" but then a 2.5" coil could net you 4" and a 3" about 5" of lift. Soooo, I'd just get the coils, see where it sits, and then think about spacers.
(But that's just me. cause, well I try to avoid buying things if I can help it)
Also, if you want a hand tossing it on cause your nervous, let me know. But putting a small coil spring lift on is cake. Easily doable in the driveway/garage with beer. I mean normal tools.
Nah, I mean beer.

Would the stock springs from my 04 fit on a stock 01? Most suspension parts all seem to work for 99-04, so I'm going to assume they would fit. Thanks!
