Have a chance to buy this as a whole. Was thinking about using the steering and brakes for my XJ and then parting out the rest. I'm not sure what engine is in it. I haven't been by to see it yet. Current owner says the engine and tranny should be fine, but doesn't know for sure. Only had a mechanic friend check them out. There is no title to the Jeep because they still owe on the thing.

How much is it worth if the engine, tranny and transfer case are indeed in working condition?

that will buff out!

Depends on the year and mileage...

If its a Low mileage unit id be in the $1500.00 market (if selling) If buying it i wouldnt want over 1k in it.

It's a 2004 and mileage is unknown right now. I assume less than 100k based on the year and that it's been sitting for almost a year now. I was thinking of offering around $800, but then I wasn't sure if I could make enough profit after parting it out.

Oh by the way... a deer did all that damage.. :p

From the looks of it I wouldn't want over $500 in it. That is probably the most they spent to buy it back from insurance, and that thing is trashed. Looks like even the rear axle/control arms are bent. That must have been one heck of a deer, or they ran off the road as well...

It is alot harder to sell parts than you might think, I still have alot of the stuff off my wife's Accord I haven't sold, I have made enough off it to get what I had it back out, but I think it had more parts that would be easier to sell (frontend parts)

They actually had a sticky situation with the insurance. They bought the Jeep from a used car lot who contacted their agent to set up the insurance. Come to find out the Jeep never had collision insurance on it. In a nutshell..they were royally screwed. A wrecked jeep and insurance didn't pay a dime, not even the tow bill. They just want to recover some of the cash.

I believe the story goes that the deer was avoided, but ran off the road and flipped a few times and smacked a tree. The rear control arms definitely look bent. Being that it's a Jeep I figured it'd be a little easier to part out than most cars, but you never do really know. Heck if it has the V8 in it then perhaps it'd make a good swap in the XJ. :driver:

If the area around the HVAC controls are the same as my 02 and look ok, I'll give you $25 for that piece.

Cool sounds like I've already got some interest in it between the replies and PMs I've gotten. I'm supposed to go see the Jeep soon and I'll get all the details and plenty of pictures.
