2006 Chevy Power Locks/remote?

Hi. For work we just got a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. Supposedly it had remote locks, but the remote was gone, just came with a key. I ordered a remote, which came with programming instructions, but I can't get the programming "ready" signal to happen, after trying probably 50 times. (yes I am doing everything right, right order, etc, as best as I can tell)
I am starting to think that maybe this one just didn't come with remote for the power locks. Is there any way to tell if the vehicle did or not? Anybody else ever done this? I programmed an extra remote for the wife's Toyota and it went pretty smoothly, so I know it is possible...all help appreciated. Thanks,

as in call a dealership? Could someone in the service department look that up? Might be worth checking into...thanks.
 
yes the svc department can tell you everything that came on the vehicle
 
try this:
put the key in the ign off position. hold the unlock button on door and turn key on, off, on, off. locks should cycle. then hold the lock/unlock buttons on key fob at same time until locks cycle. then turn key on to exit remote learning.

yeah, that's the instructions I got with the new remote. But my instructions say to let go of the unlock button then press the remote. Is that not correct? Thanks for the information..
 
Talked to Keever's Key in Hickory today and they said they get people almost daily that have bought fob's on Ebay and they didn't work. Don't know where you got yours but they helped a bunch. My new truck didn't come w/ one and was suppose to take it to the dealer to get it programmed but they did it $45 cheaper than the stealership. good luck
 
Well thanks for all the info, I called the dealership, gave them the VIN, and they said it didn't have remote locks as an option...grrrrrrr....oh well, thanks anyway...
