If you put all this work into your rig, you'd have something to wheel.. :flipoff2:

I'll be pulling for ya..

are you going to run the exhaust straight up through the hood?
nah... you can only flip manifolds on small block chevys and some mopars (without alot of work that is). also, it's technically illegal according to the rules, but i've seen cars out there before with it done.
btw nice welding cart
lol, thanks... it's a food lion throw away (got mangled by a car or something). holds welder, shielding gas, and oxy/acet setup.

haha, tell me about it... now that the ram is actually on my property once again, i'll be MUCH more motivated to go work on it vs. driving 30 minutes. derby cars are priority right now though.
sweet i think im going to run one too
cool. let me know if you need a car, i've got a line on a couple good ones for a decent package price.
something about rednecks ramming eachother with crappy cars intrigues me
me too. i knew it would be fun the first time i did it, i just didn't realize how much. i've competed in a wide variety of motorsports, and derby is about at the top for fun. definitely is if you look at it from a $$ standpoint.

yep... drop me a pm and i'll tell you what i can as far as required preperation, etc.

thecarman is a wealth of derby knowledge beyond what i can give you, may want to drop him a line also. i just know how to make them legal for tech inspection and attempt to drive my ass off:lol:

Not to rain on your parade, but aren't Pintos known for blowing up during a rear end collusion? I mean you're purposly trying to back into people...

yep, they are... a non issue though since one of the safety/tech requirements is removing the stock tank and replacing it with an interior mounted plastic fuel cell.

The Pintos are supposed to be good 4-cyl derby cars - I'm looking forward to see how this one does!

Anyone interested in running in the derby should visit http://www.stoneyroberts.com/StoneyRoberts.htm to get a copy of the rules, dates/times, and registration forms.

Check out the calendar there - there is one coming up near Hickory this week.

The 4 cyl Pinto somehow got a trophy and $$$.

And I think we just added 2 more cars to the derby fleet today:

4 Cyl
'93 Saab 900S

8 Cyl
'68 Cadillac coupe...with 472ci

Next season is going to be interesting.
