Paul had an eventful weekend, that was for sure.
Thursday night several of us decided to go for a ride, gonna take the easy stuff we said. We were being lead around by Loganstoy, went on a Blue trail, well it should have been a red trail, especially after it rained on Wednesday. Some major beating and throttle, most of us had to winch at some point. Paul had to winch some, and seems the drain from the winch took his Battery out. So I winched up a ledge to get close enough to run cables down to him. After about 45 mins or so, The red top just wouldn't take a charge. So, we took one of my Yellow tops and swapped it in to Paul's Jeep. This was after he had already hit the left side so hard that he separated the cowl and dash on the passenger side. Back to Camp. Friday morning, after I had charged his red top all night, he took it to the parts store, and nothing was wrong with it, so back into his Jeep, and away we went. Later that day, Paul broke his driver side upper control mount out of the frame. With Three large ratchet straps and his winch cable, we got him easily back to camp. Many folks dove in to contribute to the repair. From Welders, tools, skills, a shelter half to keep from being burned, welding helmet, and a beautiful little Blonde gal who decided that Paul needed help. She re-arranged his tools, fitted the side of his IROKS with sockets and continuously tried to get under the Jeep to help. Back together, more riding. And then later, Friday night, a second round of night riding netted Paul with a barrel roll. From tires all the way around, back on it's tires again. Still going!
Saturday brought more carnage to Paul as he burned a brake line and was able to repair it on the trail. Still later, he broke the link repair off again after some major beating. More ratchet straps and he was able to get back to Camp, still wearing his smile. This is why I nominated him for the hard luck award.
