Anyone have any feedback on these trucks? I've seen some decent prices on the 2017's and it has given me the itch....

No problems so far about 12k miles on 17 with the 6.2, truck rides really good and averages around 14mpg. I’m not sure what’s different about the new gasser but it seems to be much stronger

Nothing other than test drives. Didn't think the extra price was worth it for a work truck that will get beat to hell...but eyeballing the hell out of the new SD's (or Continental) for the next personal vehicle.

The 6.7L diesels are straight-up rocket ships.

But I don't want to be financially responsible for this:

Not even a fight. Stock for stock the new PSD walks the dog on every new diesel out there. Traction is optional when unloaded.

For a gas engine 3/4ton truck the 6.2 is a pretty good option too if you don't want to spring for the diesel.

Ford guy through and through, almost pained me to buy a Dodge...but you're really only talking 25ft/lbs when comparing PSD with 925torques vs a Cummins with 900torques. Across a 6,000lb truck...nobody is noticing.

That said...you're right, I've been in sports cars that couldn't do doughnuts as easily.

I can't comment on the aluminum body, although I'm not too scared of it, and the 150 has been using the same body for a few extra years. But the powertrain is stout. Basically the 17+ are the same as the 15-16 gen 2 6.7s which I have. The thing will fly, if I can stay off the throttle I get 17mpg hand calced in town, 10 miles of 55mph or less to or from work. I get 21 to 22 mpg unloded freeway, and about 12 mpg towing my crawler at highway speed, its on a deckover so its got lots of drag, and the whole combo weighs 19k.

My 16 is bone stock with 3.31 gears and I have no intention of changing that for a while. If it ever gets a delete I will probably only tune it to keep the light off, not for extra power because I honestly dont know how youd drive on a wet road with more, LOL.

As far as the tight quarters under the hood, both chevy and ford are like that due to the v8 vs i6, however im my experience fords are better packaged. With the 6.7 just like my old 6.0 once you get the intercooler tubing and some coolant hoses out of the way its not that bad to work on. The duramax is harder to work on it seems because the way they package it. On dads lbz duramax its a job to get the turbo or egr valve out for cleaning, everything is bracketed to everything else under there.

Who the fuck needs more power in a pickemup truck?
With the def delete you get rid of alot of extra emissions junk that the older trucks didn’t have. Some guys have even started deleting tractors that have def. Less to worry with, less to go wrong.

Multiple sources would say the new Duramax is stronger and faster. I've driven none of them. If I had one or all of them, I would delete and tune just for the fun factor.

I just don't think I could bring myself to buy a truck with a CP4 injection pump...

Not sure if it's the gearing or what, but the Ford is a rocket. My only gripe is they all search for gears when driven "normally". I will say, towing, the Cummins with the Aisin is impressive and probably the one I would own if I had to have a newer slushbox diesel.

Ford feels strongest empty
Dodge feels strongest with a load behind it.
Chevy/GMC kind of falls in the middle but the Allison seems to search for gears the least of the three.

kegcrawler's deleted and tuned 6.7 is a 4WD race car. It's the only deleted newer truck I have driven but it's just silly even on the lightest tune on the MiniMaxx.

My only gripe? That Ford and GM are using the most delicate injection pump on the market and Ford was kind enough to throw the DEF fill directly next to the fuel fill. Within 6 months a tech bulletin was released saying that any evidence of DEF contamination in the fuel system would result in the inability to warranty the $10,000 bill that came next.
We've seen quite a few engine failures as well in the 6.7l!

6.7 Ford or Ram? My 2011 Ford 6.7 with Minimaxx is relatively unimpressive compared to my 2008 Ford 6.4.

2012 Ford 6.7 fully deleted. Never drove a 6.4 so I can't compare.

However the 400k mile LLY truck we hauled hay with yesterday still gets it done with no problem and all it's had is fluid changes and two sets of front hubs. Something to be said for leaving something stock and keeping up on the maintenance. It's had 12k behind it almost every day of its life.

His got a new engine at 60k when a rod went through the pan. That was the PO's problem back then.

Ill let ya know in 10-15 years........when I can /will afford one.

All I can add is I recently added 4.30 gears to a 2017 F350 with a 6.2 gasser. Dude tows a giant 5th wheel and didn't want a diesel.

With the 4.30s, that truck ran awesome. He had it tuned and did some transmission programming as well post-tune. After driving it some, I'd have to consider the 6.2 if I was shopping for a new tow rig.

But I have a Cummins with a 6 speed manual. So why would I be shopping for a new tow rig?
