2017 KOH?

I'll be in San Diego for work Jan 29th - Feb 3rd which is only 3 hours away from KOH. Is it worth it to go for a Friday/Saturday trip? How much would I be able to see since they don't actually race until Feb 11th? Is anyone else going that I could tag along with?

We have a show out in Vegas that runs until the 4th. I offered to take it from my boss but he wants to go. Still trying to weasel my way into it so I can delay my trip back to NC that way I can catch KOM and some pre running before coming home.
 
Hammertown starts to come to life that Friday and Saturday. Ultra4 doesn't release the course map until Feb 3rd, but a lot of the West Coast teams will be running around the old course/pre-running logical new course options.

Chocolate Thunder is an easy drive in a rental and it always has action.
