2019 tax return refunds

Haven't filed yet. I owe $$ so now it's waiting until July ;-)

Do they have confirmation of receipt? When I do it w/ H&R Block's s/w it gives me a confirmation # when filed. Supposedly you can use that to check in.

Well crap. I just called my account for the conf. #. She found that my return slipped through the cracks and didn’t get filed . She sent it while I was on the phone with her. So disregard this question.
Well, its a good thing the deadline was extended, lol
I hope you're getting a nice discount on their rate.

"You had one job..."

My tax man always files electronically, & I use direct deposit. Had my refunds, both State & Federal, with in a week! Got my Stimulus check within 10 days. All those po folk that take the Rapid Refund [& Pay for it], got screwed!

Now that the mystery is solved...
Is it time to start the "If you're getting a refund you're chump giving the government a free loan" debate?

Normally I pay but in 2019 I sold some land, sold my house, bought a house, cashed some assests, etc. This caused me to get some money back.

Overtaxation is theft. Current system is a ponzi scheme.

That said, we got a nice refund this year with having our son and still being early on our home loan.

I've seen enough people, smart people even, fuck around and find out why they don't want to mess with the IRS. I try to get as close as possible every single year, but still pay in every year with the exception of my first job. But the vast majority of people, if they're playing the paycheck to paycheck game and miscalculate how much should be deducted in taxes through the year...if they get hit with a $3-4k bill they can't afford from Uncle Sam...congrats, it'll probably turn in to $10k by the time you're done paying it off. Hell, with all the job changing I've done over the last 6-7 years and my wife has done over the last 5, it's pretty easy to forget our tax system is tiered and the new employer doesn't account for wages prior to employment with them unless you tell them to deduct $X extra. It's just not worth dicking around with for the vast majority of people, in my opinion. Now, if I can get about 75million other people to say f*ck taxation along with me, that's a much better narrative, but I'm too pretty to go to jail if they don't.
