I hate these threads. I believe that if you really want to make a change, you will just do it when you feel like it needs to happen.

Having said that, I have two goals for 2022:

1) I am disgusted with my garage organization. We have lived in our house for 8 years, and it has basically been a mess since day one. I am going to set a goal for my garage to be considerably better organized by the end of 2022. It will most likely happen slowly. I'm going to use this thread as motivation and to keep me accountable for my goal. I may even post some 'before' and 'progress' pictures.

2) I pulled my old MTB out of the shed in late 2021 after letting it sit for 9 years, and rode it three times. I am setting a goal to make time and get out on my mountain bike as much as possible this year and explore as many trails as possible that are close to me.

Insulate my shop to get the humidity under control.
Install an iron filter on the house water supply.
Get laid.
Go hiking.
Take the jeep wheeling.

I'd like to do all of these things at least once this year.

Or the single best day ever.

I've got the two tank system. Works great. Only problem with iron filters is that they generally require a water softener behind them

I make the same resolution every year: don't die this year. Had a few close calls but so far still going.

Funny, I just told someone today that my resolution was to make it alive to December 31. Then I said I figured January 15 was a good enough goal for right now. All the cool kids know why.

My 2021 goal was to do 200 F3 workouts. I made it to 205, but I worked out a number of times when I was really too injured to be doing that stuff. So I told myself I wouldnā€™t set such a lofty goal this year. Thus far I havenā€™t set any goals. Iā€™m leaning towards some of the goals @jeepinmatt set; 3 of the 5 look doable.

-Call SC LRADAC and schedule my official start date in order to get my boating privileges back.
-Not end up back in jail for any reason.
-Hope there's been enough time between now and back when (the last time I indulged in Marijuana) to pass a drug screening.
-Hope I don't get fired in the process.
-Hope I don't get pissed off enough to say "fuck it" and go back to snorting meth again and calling out the next day because I'm too high to go into work.
-Not start drinking Mon-fri at 6:15 am.
-Stop getting into fist fights. I'm too old for this block on my shoulder.
-Buy a house.
-Get the Jeep reinsured.
-Live long enough to see all these come true.
Plan for the worse, hope for the best.

My resolutions have been the same for several years, and since I never do them:

- Iā€™m NOT going to lose weight and take better care of myself
- Iā€™m NOT going to get my vehicles road worthy
- Iā€™m NOT going to spend less time in the office

Pretty sure thatā€™s how you reverse psychologize yourself.

Resolution or not I would encourage anybody to lose some weight (if they need to) and take better care of them selves.I had a heart attack at 46 and weighed 370.Its no picnic.

heart attack at 46
Heart attack is #3 killer of dudes in their 40s. If I remember correctly, it's after accidents and suicide. I think cancer was #4. If you make it to your 50s, accidental death drops down the list several places.
