I'm planning to come down fairly early Friday to hit the trails with my neighbor. We won't be hitting the challenging stuff. So, if anyone wants to tag along, feel free.

I plan to come setup camp afterward, then head back home for my son's football game.
I plan to be working on my jeep until the last possible minute so I won’t be there in time. Well, I don’t “plan” to be working on it, I just know that is what will happen. :D

Been so long since I have been in the forest...is anything doable in my fullsize Dodge without smashing rockers or catching trees?

Thought about hauling my Mule and farting around.

I've been on this board almost 20 years and have only met a handful of ya'll. I haven't been to an event since the flats was around. I think I'm going to try to make this.

But no lie, I hate leaving home, so it's going to be difficult.

What time will someone be at group Camp on Friday?
Not sure of my schedule yet but I may just load up and come on early.
@WARRIORWELDING you should be fine. Not too much encroaching vegetation and water bars would be your only issue on light trails and you can maneuver around on most other.

I promise you’ll have a good time, or your money back! Hitch a ride with me if you want. We can spend 1.5hrs in the truck telling powergen war stories haha.

I bought my Jeep almost a year ago now, it's been in the shop a while and I just got it back last week. I've yet to take it wheeling or have anyone to wheel with, so next weekend just might have to be the time for it. I do appreciate the offer, we could possibly caravan? I'm off Fri, Sat, Sun and could leave on your timeline.

I will probably be there super early Friday myself

I’ll probably leave midday Friday and come back midday Sunday. I’ll shoot you a text later in the week and we can nail down the details.

Weather is looking perfect!

Hollar, I'll go wheel with ya. And I'm in Lincolnton too.

I'm sure you could be fine. I honestly don't pay much attention whether a full size would go without damage. I'm always in a jeep.

So my son decided he wants to camp for the weekend so he can get some seat time in the buggy. For @jeepinmatt I’ll contribute a big chunk of ham cooked in The Big Easy oil less fryer Saturday evening. Hope to blend in with everybody riding to the trails because I’m not trailering back and forth.

I'm going to trailer it. Not sure what I can contribute on Saturday since I'm not the cook in the family. @jeepinmatt any suggestions?

I’ll piggyback off this…

I’m also planning to “blend in” with a group of street-legal rigs to and from the trails Friday night and Saturday so I don’t have to pull the crawler hauler back and forth to a trailhead.

Wondering (out loud) if anyone who is trailering there but driving their rig on the forest roads, would be willing to let me borrow a bumper pull trailer to get my buggy to/from trailhead/campground.

Just trying to think of a backup plan in case forest service happens to have a healthy presence that weekend. I’ll definitely risk it in the buggy before I tow my weekend “house” back and forth. But if someone were to offer up their trailer for me to use there, that might an option worth considering.

It's actually not the forest service you have to worry about. The local county patrols the access roads and gives out tickets. A fried a few years ago was pulled even though his topless xj was tagged. The tag was not easily viable. Ever since I saw that I been paranoid. People say they never see the rangers checking trail passes too. I got stopped by one and he checked everyone in the group. And that was exiting Daniel. I think I pass an IGA on the way up. I could grab something there for Saturday night?

Haven't had a tag on my Jeepster since 2015 but I have a couple events per year where it would be good. So today I ponied up and got it legal again. Was so surprised at the cost of insurance so it was a no brainer. Otherwise I would have been towing to the trialhead. If I had tried it, I def would have been pulled. And yes the local LEO is not FS personnel, he's a local PD guy.
