208-241 can you swap input shafts

i got a 208 behind a allison trans got the guts out of the stock t-case and put them in seems to work fine only drove it around the block waiting on exhaust. you shouldnt have any problems

It wont work. The 241 has a planetary gear set and the 208 don't.

i dont member the numbers on it, it was all out of a 04 chevy 8.1 allison and just swaped the guts out of the stock case and put it in the 208 my 208 was out of a 89 str8 gear dodge used it for the bolt on yoke instead of the slip in

just went and looked turns out the dodge case was a 241 thought they only put them in the 2500s. guess it was just dumb luck it worked out for me i never looked at the numbers just tried it. think 1 tonmudder knows more then me i just thought i knowed something

really? how does a chain drive case get its gear reduction? the 208 is chain drive, right?

the 32 spline input for each case has a different part #, as does the 27 spline shaft. So i would assume they would not be interchangeable. but anything is possible. If i had both, i would pull them apart and see what happens.

and there is a part # for a 208 planetery assembly, so i would also assume that it does indeed have a planetery.
