22r carb issue

I bought an 84 4runner. Replaced engine with 88 22re. Used carb, intake, fuel pump, and dist. From 84 22r. Made block off plates for egr stuff.

I just got engine put in with new timing chain. I can get it to run but as soon as it tries to idle fuel starts to run out of top of the carb. Fuel also comes out of the canister that's mounted near the battery and radiator.

Sight glass fills all the way to the top when messing with it. However the next day when I go out it is halfway in the sight glass. I tried to hook up all the vacuum lines back like they were but some didn't have places to go after removing egr stuff and my bvsv(I think) is broken off.

Does this sound like just a float issue or maybe I dont have a return line hooked up right? I suck at carbs and am having trouble trying to get this thing going. Any help is appreciated. Also I bought the 4runner with blown engine so no idea if this was a problem before I started messing or not.

Its gonna be my daily driver so trying to stick with carb. Anybody know where the best place to buy a weber is?

You need a 32/36 Weber. Ebay will find a legit weber at an awesome price. Make sure the dealer is legit and hit the buy button. You won't be dissapointed.

Found one on eBay with adapter plates and filter for 225 shipped

Reading on pirate I seen where a lot of people complained about not being able to keep adapter on manifold sealed. Anybody have any issues or tips to seal them up good the first time?

I used gasket shellac and buttered all of the pieces real good. No issues so far. I tested it with carb cleaner while it was running to verify absence of leak.
