I have heard this is a really common problem with webers.

A buddy, having the same issue, once told me there was some kind of retro fit that helps or cures this. Something about the fuel getting around the float or something. Cant remember but search the web, you'll find it.

You can turn it around. It's a little better to stall going down than coming up. Lower your float level a little, drop your fuel pressure a little. These are the easy fixes. There's homemade fixes to eliminate the problem, and some folks have had good success. I can't really expound on those, though. I gave up on mine and went with an alternative.

Samurai owners deal with this a lot. The stock carbs go bad and the Weber is a common replacement.
-You can turn it around to keep it from doing it going uphill. Just put it in low and stay off the brakes when going downhill.
-You can use a fuel regulator set around 1-3 lbs.
-Lower the float level. Best bet is trial and error. Lower it until you run into fuel starvation and then bring it back up a bit.
-You can seal off the fuel bowl vent and put a single line vent in it to dump the overflow into the carb throat.(btw- this is the problem. The open fuel bowl vent design allows fuel to flood over into the main jets when on an incline.)
Add a fuel return in the other port where the fuel inlet is located.

For more info Google Weber mods, fixes etc. or go to Zuwharrie.com amd search for Weber.
