replaced injectors with reman units, now injectors #1 and 4 are not firing. plugged in or unplugged while idling doesn't effect idle. unplugging #2 or 3 will kill it. noid lights on the connectors test good, is it possible or likely to have two bad reman injectors? don't they test them before sending them out?

They supposedly test them. Listen to the injector with a stethoscope.. You should hear it click.. Any possibility of loss of compression or spark on those cylinders?

i hear #1 click, didn't try #4. when i pull the connectors and plug them into an old injector, i feel it click. spark tests good on both cylinders.

odd thing is, #3 wasn't firing injector before swapping them out, i traced that to the splice in the wiring harness and repaired it. fix one thing, break two things :(

It's possible the new injector is faulty.. I deal with a local parts house and have gotten bad runs off parts (multiple faulty components sequentially, with no vehicle faults.. Alternators, headlight switches, etc). Although faulty parts is the exception than the rule. Put a reman power steering pump in the wife's zj and it put out way less pressure than the zj pump I put in my xj until one day it just loosened up... It's still not enough to spin with one finger, while I can on mine (and her pulley kept walking off the pump too) so it could be a bad injector but sometimes QA fails or maybe QA doesn't test every unit but every x units..

Good to know. I do recall getting many bad reman alternators when I worked at a service shop in college.

I'll try swapping the known good old ones back in place of the two that seem to be bad as soon as I get a nice dry day around here...

Take out the injectors, and test them out by quickly touching a 12v battery to the terminals while pressurizing w/ a little gas from a syringe. Do it for a 4 so you can compare the response.
