Believe I'm going to have to do the head gasket on my 93 pickup soon (208k or so). Getting lots of air in the coolant and recently it'll bubble the radiator/smell like exhaust when I crack the rad cap.
No reason to believe it's ever been overheated or anything's warped but I've thought about putting a new engnbldr head/cam on while I'm at it. No plans to boost the engine or go crazy with it, what else should I do while I've got it torn down? Water/oil pumps come to mind, p/o said he did timing with metal guides/rollers so I'll verify that. What else? Any reason for ARP studs or anything like that for a mild use engine? Done a lot of searching but haven't found much between straight r&r and people building $$ motors.
