22RE water temp.????

I have a sami with a 22 re engine second engine and second radiator temp runs 180-190 (180 thermostat I think maybe 160 not sure )is that too high or?? I have one electric fan need a better one I think but just want to know what others are running at!
neither motor or rad were bad because of heat just spun bearing and hole in 1st rad!
What does yours run???

180 -190 is absolutely normal for that engine.

195 is a typical temp for anything fuel injected

straight water boils at 212, without being in a pressurized system. Your fine.

One note. These things cool best if you drill a small bypass hole in the t-stat. Otherwise it can get "stuck" cycling between hot and cold sometimes.

but yes 180-190 normal.

i drill a 3/16th hole in every t-stat i install (i didn't think of it until dave said it, i just do it automatically)
