Just to clarify - the carb version (22r) was standard on pickups until 89, but fuel injected (RE) was optional - but it was standard on 4Runners beginning '85.

actually they came from mid 85 to 95. buddy has a carbd 85 so you gotta watch em. my 95 pickup is 22re. tacoma came in a 95.5
